The Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENDCo) is Mrs Kirsty Armstrong who can be contacted via the school office.

Gateshead SEND Thresholds are a graduated approach to identifying and meeting needs of children who need additional support. It is guidance for all adults who work with children identified with barriers and it creates consistency across all agencies and partners involved. 

The document provides families, young people and practitioners with a common language to use when implementing a graduated approach from quality first teaching to additional provision and resources. It also provides clarity over access to a range of support across all agencies. 

It is an in depth guidance and expectation on the delivery of support and quality interventions in settings, schools and post16. 

The document focuses on the 4 areas of need from the SEND Code of Practice and Preparation from Adulthood (PfA) outcomes.

They offer free impartial, confidential information and advice for children and young people aged 0-25 and their parents and carers where a child or young person has or may have special educational needs and/or a disability (SEND).
